Question, is it easier to play it with Misha's signature guitar (technically speaking) ?
The body of my guitar isn't as curved as this one, and I think I can't get to the high notes fastly because of this :(

how does it feel to alternate pick the main riff as opposed to how Mark Holcomb plays it? (I remember from a video, it is sort of Down down up?)

I'm just starting out and to challenge me I started trying it but man it's hard to play clearly.....
also, seeing periphery this night!
I don't know if you already learned the song by now, but in my own experience playing this (this applies to almost every song you are going to play ever) you just have to play realy realy slowly. And making sure every note you play sounds clean and there are not any open strings ringing. Then when you can play it semi-fluently, play it realy slow with a metronome and SLOWLY build up the tempo!
Oh and how was the show? I would love to know how they play life!

I’m trying to learn this and have it mostly down at 75% speed, however I cannot for the life of me keep the top three strings quiet once I build up to full speed. They start ringing out loud and true due to all the movement on the fretboard. Anyone got some tips to make them shut the hell up and keep the riffs clean?

Bar 136 really boggers me. why isn't it 10-14 on a low C than 10 on a G and 10 on a C instead of 10-15 on a G. Then it would've just been a simple sweep down and up the 10th fret and instead it's this stretch between 10 and 15 and then string skip down to 10-12-10 on the F string. And I've checked that Misha plays it this way too. Seems overcomplicated but I guess that's all Periphery is.

i'm trying to learn this riff right and i noticed that misha and a lot of cover versions play the first and fourth figure of the main riff with their middle finger. is it easier this way and am i missing something, because it's way easier and more comfortable playing it with my ring finger?
What works for you best is the best way. If you tried both ways and you feel like using your ring finger is easier this is probably how you should approach the riff. I had to practise a lot until i could stretch my midle finger which made sence for me since I could use my ring finger and pinky for the frets that farther away.
Diffirent hands different placings bro, bigger handed players will fret differently than people with smaller hands
